Our Story... The History of Sin

Once upon a time there was a lovely little café in beautifully majestic Crystal City, Virginia. Ours was a lovely little shop with a very loyal group of devoted followers. (Actual guest quote: "If heaven had a café, it would be just like this.") The name Sinplicity was intended to represent our "self-indulgence without apology" approach to cooking (and handcrafted ice creams in particular). The café was the dream of founding partners Leland Atkinson and Alex Schriefer.

One slow rainy day, one of our faithful patrons needed sandwiches delivered to her office for a working lunch. "Could you...?" Why yes. Yes we could. That luncheon, and a few others that followed, were met with glowing compliments and questions of "Who's your caterer?" Soon after, our patron needed help with a luncheon meeting designed to close a major deal. Top quality. Spare no expense. Sinplicity rose to the occasion, far exceeded expectations, and arrived at a crossroad.

Fast forward to today, and Sinplicity is the best corporate caterer in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC market. Prized for our "From Scratch, Beautifully Presented & Guaranteed on Time" philosophy, Sinplicity Catering now has a fleet of trucks delivering their fine products around the beltway and beyond. We realize that Sinplicity is a funny little name for a corporate caterer, but it's how people know us, and it's who we will remain.

Due to drastic space and parking limitations, Sinplicity Café is but a fond memory. But the passion for serving breathtaking food and offering great service that was born there lives on. Alex and Leland are still here, living the dream of founding and running their own company. It looks a little different than it did "at birth", but we're proud of the child nonetheless.
